I'd like to share that the purchase of my first hot tub was quite the process with a lot of moving parts. I'm an HR professional for a Fortune 100 company and I cannot stress the sheer lack of spare time I have let alone when things don't go according to plan. The Comfort Hot Tubs team came to my rescue when they learned about a delivery rescheduling nightmare I experienced that lasted a week in which I would need to be present. I had an electrician and movers scheduled to get to work once the hot tub arrived only to learn it was postponed by RoadRunner the delivery company. This caused me to incur a hefty fee for wasting the movers' time essentially. Once the hot tub was delivered, I received a follow up call from Nick at Comfort Hot Tubs (I believe the owner), to check in with me and learn about my experience. To my surprise Nick was very professional and I could tell my story didn't sit well with him. Nick made sure that I was compensated for the trouble and provided additional funds for the ordeal and the impact it had on my family and work schedule. The prompt response was commendable and Nick has even ensured I had everything I needed to be set up for success. This was such a positive turn around from how things started. I needed this hot tub after a bad car accident, so Nick's quick and decisive actions very much eased the mental anguish as a result of the delivery miscommunications/delays. The hot tub is well-built and great-looking. It has a Balboa (BP501) control system which allows to installation WiFi/Remote control module. The neck pillows can be used as seats and lighting is very cool at night. Super easy to install - we had it filled up (it takes 250 gallons) and started using it immediately! It has 2 water pumps, 44 jets, and an ozonator filtration system. Delivery and install were smooth. Overall I highly recommend this hot tub for personal or commercial use.
When we got it delivered it had a leak, so we needed to get a repairman, but he fixed it so it works good right now
The Comfort 816 uses a best-in class Balboa control system. The control system is the brain of the spa, controlling everything from jets and lights to temperature and cleaning cycles.
We use the Balboa Control System in our hot tubs because it is the highest quality in the market and the most reliable. Additionally, it can be serviced by any local spa technician.
This well designed spa is 78.5” x 78.5” x 34” in width, length and height. The spa has two loungers, which is perfect for a couple. It can comfortably sit 4 people and has capacity to hold up to 6 people at any given time
The hot tub is shipped in a crate and the crate dimensions are 79.5” x 84.5” x 35” and weighs approximately 950lbs.
We use vacuum heat forming technology to build the acrylic shell structure. The automated machining process ensures consistency and quality craftmanship across all units.
The Acrylic Shell serves two purposes:
Durability and resistance to scratches, stains, and UV radiation.
Excellent heat retention, helping to keep the water temperature consistent and reducing energy costs.
We use closed-cell spray foam insulation to maintain the temperature of your hot tub. The foam is sprayed underneath the acrylic shell.
This superior insulation keeps the water temperature consistent and reduces energy costs. It additionally reduces the strain on the heating system, resulting in a longer lifespan for your spa.
The Balboa control system will manage the automated filtration system for the spa.
In the filtration cycle, the silent circulation pump (.5 horsepower) will run every 3-4 hours and pass water through the filter and the ozonator. The ozonator eliminates water contaminants with ozone, reducing the need for excessive chemicals in the spa.
The spas is equipped with 2 high-tech pumps (3 horsepower each), that power the 44 hydrotherapeutic stainless steel jets.
These 44 adjustable massage jets are expertly placed throughout the spa to deliver the ultimate hydrotherapeutic massage experience.
The hot tub’s LED lights add luxury to your spa experience, with customizable color options to create a stunning visual display.

Comfort Hot Tubs is an online-only brand so seeing your hot tub beforehand in most cases is not possible. With that said, we do have the Comfort Display Program where customers voluntarily have the opportunity to show new prospective customers their hot tub in exchange for a small fee that we cover. If you would like to join the program or are curious if someone in the area will show you their hot tub, please do not hesitate to reach out and we will make an appointment for you (assuming someone in your area has volunteered to be part of the program).
The warranty program for Comfort Hot Tubs is 1 year including parts and labor. If for some reason you encounter a warranty related issue, please call our support line and we will be ready to resolve your issue as soon as possible. After the first year, you will continue to have lifetime access to our customer support line, as well as access to purchase our hot tub parts (if needed). We understand the limited scope of the warranty program; this does not mean that we do not believe in our product. Our mission is to get you a great hot tub at a fraction of the cost of what you may find from local your local hot tub dealer, and as such we have limited our warranty program to be able to get you the best deal possible on your hot tub.
We have partnered with 5 national freight carriers to ship our hot tubs. Depending on your location, the hot tub will be shipped with one of these carriers.
The hot tub is highly protected during transit. Our spas are shipped across the country so we have invested heavily into the packaging so that is well protected. The hot tub will arrive in a wooden crate that is palletized.
The shipping company will give you a call to make a delivery appointment with you once the hot tub has arrived at your nearest shipping terminal. On the delivery day, they will give you a call when they are on their way with the hot tub.
When the freight company arrives, they will take the hot tub out of the truck using a liftgate and a pallet jack. They will then bring the hot tub “curbside”. Each freight carrier has a different definition of what they mean by curbside – from a liability perspective they unfortuntately are not able to place it in your backyard where you want it. We understand that this is a downside to purchasing online – please reach out to us if you need guidance or support with getting the hot tub in place.
We intentionally have used standardized parts (e.g. balboa control system) so that our hot tubs can be operated on by any local service technician. If your hot tub is under warranty, please reach out to us and we will guide you through the process of finding a qualified technician to operate on the spa. If you would like to coordinate a repair by yourself, a technician can be easily found by conducting a google search for “Spa Repairs”. We recommend hiring someone with at least 3+ years of experience.
No, Comfort Hot Tubs spas can not be converted to salt water spas. Attempting to convert the spa will void all warranty.
Fun fact: Salt water spas still use chlorine! Salt water spas use chlorine generators as disinfectant. The generators pass electricity through sodium chloride and this process produces chlorine which is then sent through the spa to clean it.
The hot tub arrives fully assembled in a wooden crate. The hot tub weighs roughly 900lbs in the crate and 800lbs when removed from the crate. The freight company will leave the hot tub curbside. Due to the bulkiness and investment that you have made into this hot tub, we recommend hiring a local mover that specializes with hot tubs to place it in its final destination. They will have the equipment and experience to ensure your hot tub is handled properly. Inform the mover that you received a hot tub curbside, and that you will want it placed in your backyard. To receive a quote, they will ask you for the size of the spa as well as the path of delivery (e.g. distance, stairs, hills, sharp corners, narrow passageways, etc.). You will need at least 35” of width clearance and 84” of height clearance at all points along the delivery path for the hot tub to be delivered. If you do not have this clearance, then a hot tub mover may need to hire a crane technician to help with the project.
Shipping times will vary depending upon where you live in the contiguous US and most often range between 3-10 days for arrival. The hot tubs are shipped 1-2 business days after you place your order and 95% of shipments are received within 10 calendar days of placing your order.
We understand that your satisfaction is paramount, and we want you to be completely happy with your hot tub purchase. Therefore, we offer a 30-day return policy from the date of delivery. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your hot tub, you may return it within this period. To be eligible for a return, the hot tub must be in its original condition, with all accessories and packaging included (e.g. in its original shipping crate). The customer is responsible for any return shipping costs. Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will process your refund promptly, minus any applicable fees. Please contact our customer service team to initiate a return request or if you have any questions about our return policy.
